WK7: The Haunted House

Personally I am terrified of haunted houses. My friend Josh invited me to the night time showing in the haunted house. It is way scarier then the day time one. We went inside slowly. I was very scared. My heart was racing. The sweat was rolling down my brow.  We walked into the first room slowly. The hair stood up on the back of my neck. I was frozen to the spot. I went to scream but no words would come out. As the door slammed I knew there was no way out.‎

  1. Hi Ben,
I enjoyed reading your story. Well done.
It reminded me of a time when I took my youngest boy on a Halloween rollercoaster once …Never again…he was like you in that house- petrified and sadly there was no way out. We had to finish the ride!
    Good work this week.

  2. What a great story Ben. I could really feel the fear. Your descriptions are excellent -especially the way you describe the ‘sweat rolling down your brow’, and your hair as it ‘stood up on the back of your neck’. I can’t even begin to imagine the panic when you knew there was no way out.

  3. Hi Ben,

What a great horror story! This is very topical around the time of Halloween. All of the elements that you describe about the house feel really authentic, your heart racing etc. I can relate to this as when I went to a haunted house in London, I had the same feeling! Sweat dripping down the side of my face and all. I really like the way you use the senses: the look of the house and the silence all around. Keep up the good work!
